These Twix stuffed brownies are super chocolate-y. They are filled with Fun-Sized Twix bars, the cookie bar that is topped with caramel and chocolate.
I originally thought that this Twix brownie recipe was more novelty treat than proper dessert, but now that I see the response from my taste testers, I'm pretty sure these would be acceptable on any dessert table.
Of course, if I wanted to be fancy, I could see layering these with ice cream in a small glass, sort of like a mini trifle.
When I first started this site, this recipe was one of my first posts. At the time, candy "stuffed" anything was pretty much the rage. I took these homemade Twix brownies to work, and they were a huge hit.
One of the minor annoyances of constantly trying new recipes is that you don't get to enjoy some of your favorite old recipes as often as you'd like. One of my goals for 2018 is to update some old posts, partially so I can update the recipe and photos, but mostly so I can enjoy the recipe again.
I just re-made these brownies, and they withstood the time test, even if the candy bar stuffed baked goods craze has passed. My grandsons quickly polished these off.

Twix Candy Bar Brownies
These Twix Candy Bar Brownies are a delicious combination of chewy chocolate brownies and your favorite caramel and cookie candy bar.
ingredients:
- 4 ounces coarsely chopped unsweetened chocolate
- 6 ounces (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 1/2 ounces (1 cup) unbleached all purpose flour
- 12 Fun-sized Twix bars, each cut into thirds
instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8 inch by 8 inch square pan with foil, and spray the pan and foil with spray oil.
- In a large bowl, microwave the chocolate and butter at 50% power in one minute increments, stirring in between, until the butter is melted. Stir the mixture until the chocolate fully melts. Set aside.
- Whisk in the sugar. Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt, and whisk until fully combined. Add the flour, and stir with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until just combined.
- Spread half of the batter in the pan. Arrange the candy bar pieces evenly on top of the batter. Spread the rest of the batter over the top of the candy bars.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Cool the brownies in the pan on a wire rack.

DeleteI totally agree with you - as a food blogger, you're constantly trying new recipes but so rarely get to revisit ones you loved. Updating a post of a great excuse to remake old favorites.
