Coconut-Ginger Turkey Meatballs

These Coconut-Ginger Turkey Meatballs are wonderful as an appetizer. You can also shape them into a larger size and serve them with Asian-style noodles, rice, and/or vegetables for a complete meal.

These Coconut-Ginger Turkey Meatballs consist of ground turkey combined with the flavors of ginger, sesame oil, garlic, coconut milk, scallions, fish sauce, and red pepper flakes.

New Orleans Style Beignets

Beignets, fried yeasted dough treats, are most famous in the U.S. as served by Cafe du Monde in New Orleans.

At the restaurant, they are presented generously dusted with powdered sugar along with a cafe au lait.

Pork and Cabbage Egg Rolls

These pork and cabbage egg rolls are super crispy and filled with a wonderfully seasoned ground pork and cabbage mixture.

These Chinese-American style egg rolls (meishi chunjuan) are extra large (burrito-sized) and packed with filling. Just one egg roll with a side salad is enough for lunch for me (although you may catch me shaving off a slice or two from the leftovers).

Slow Cooker White Bean and Chicken Chili

This slow cooker white bean and chicken chili includes layers of flavor from chicken broth, sauteed onions and jalapeños, and bone-in chicken thighs.

This slow cooker chicken chili begins with a base of chicken broth and pureed canned hominy. It's a great way to add a corn flavor as well as thicken the base without a roux.

Peppermint Patty Brownie Bites

These Peppermint Patty Brownie Bites, stuffed with York Peppermint Patties, are such a fun treat!

Peppermint Patties are on my short list of favorite candies. After all, chocolate and mint are pretty much a perfect pairing.

Rieska (Finnish Flatbread)

Rieska is an everyday Finnish Flatbread. This version is moist, slightly sweet, and perfect spread with salty butter.

There are several versions of this bread, including with barley or with potato. This one, from King Arthur, is probably the simplist one to make of the lot.

Thai Cabbage Salad

This Thai cabbage salad is light, refreshing, and loaded with all of your favorite Asian flavors.

This Thai cabbage salad is amazing. I could eat mass quantities. I've made this salad several times, and each time, I wonder why I don't make it more often.

Dutch Macaroni

Dutch Macaroni is a common weeknight meal in the Netherlands, especially if you have hungry kids to feed.

Dutch macaroni is typically made with ground beef, red peppers, onions or leeks, and other vegetables, along with a bit of cheese added at the end. I've also seen recipes that include pickles, which I can't wait to try too.

La Couronne Lyonaise

This Couronne Lyonaise is a French bread that originated in Lyon, France. This one includes both a sourdough starter along with a little bit of yeast.

This bread is shaped like a crown - thus the name "couronne." My shaping method is a work in progress, but the bread itself is amazingly flavorful.

Mini Ciabatta Loaves

These Mini Ciabatta Loaves are deeply flavored from the dark brown and shatteringly thin crust.

Ciabatta means "slipper" in Italian. The bread is very light and is typically roughly shaped due to the high hydration.

Scalloped Potatoes with Caramelized Onions

These scalloped potatoes with caramelized onions are a lightened up version of one of my favorite comfort foods, potatoes gratin

Instead of cream, this dish calls for broth and caramelized onions to add flavor. The result? An amazingly tasty and light potato dish that goes perfectly with roast beef, ham, or lamb chops.

Sourdough Pancakes

This sourdough pancake recipe produces amazingly fluffy and flavorful pancakes.

If you maintain a sourdough starter, making these pancakes is a great way to use up any leftover sourdough discard you might have. The resulting pancakes, while not actually sour, have a wonderful flavor and tenderness. Plus, they are nice and light.

Hot Chocolate Cookies

These hot chocolate cookies are a tasty treat made with packets of hot cocoa mix. How fun is that?

Sourdough Cornbread Muffins

These sourdough cornbread muffins are a quick and tasty way to use up some of your sourdough starter.

These muffins, even though they contain a tiny bit of maple syrup, are for those who prefer their cornbread on the savory side. They are slightly crumbly and wonderful for dunking into chilis and stews.

BBQ Glazed Meatloaf with Sweet Potatoes and Pearl Onions

BBQ glazed meatloaf with sweet potatoes and pearl onions - both dishes have a wonderful mustard-y barbecue sauce flavor, one with a sweet mustard barbecue sauce, and one with a Carolina red hot mustard sauce.

The sweet potatoes and onions have a subtle heat and the meatloaf is flavored of a variety of sauces, including a sweet mustard barbeque sauce.

Coconut Brigadeiros

These creamy coconut brigadeiros are a traditional Brazilian candy. They are similar to a candy truffle, but they are somewhat softer. Brigadeiros are considered Brazil's national treat.

These coconut brigadeiros are a tasty take on the traditional chocolate version, but they are made with coconut! They are swoon worthy.

Spelt and Poppyseed Sourdough Bread

For an easy sourdough bread, make this loaf. It includes white spelt, bread flour, and lots of poppyseeds, and the sourdough flavor is amazing.

If you're just starting out on your sourdough journey, this spelt and poppyseed sourdough bread is an easy loaf to make. The method is simple and the resulting loaf has a wonderfully sour flavor, a crispy crust, and an airy crumb.

This black bean and sweet potato soup is a great way to throw together a few root vegetables and pantry ingedients to make a quick and delicious meal.

This soup recipe only takes about 30 minutes to make and will result in a hearty and nutritious dinner for at least eight. Serve it with a thick slice of sourdough bread for dipping.

Fresh Tomato Salsa | Pico de Gallo

This fresh tomato salsa, also called pico de gallo or salsa fresca, is a classic Mexican topping or dip primarily made with ripe tomatoes, fresh chiles, and diced onions.

The first time I made this salsa, I took it to a party with a Mexican food theme and it was clearly the winner in the "salsa wars."
